3-week Evening Mug Making Workshop on the Wheel with Michelle Best

New for 2022! Three week evening pottery throwing workshop to make a mug with our resident potter Michelle Best.

 

This three-week evening workshop is for anyone with an intermediate knowledge of throwing on the wheel and wishes to learn to pull/make and attach handles. You will need some experience of throwing basic cylinders.

 

The first week will be throwing on the wheel for the mug bodies and practicing making handles.

 

The second week will be trimming and making/attaching handles.

 

Then Michelle will Bisque fire your pots and on the third week we will talk about the chemistry of glazing followed by waxing and glazing your pottery using our in-house glazes.

 

Your final four pieces will then be fired by Michelle and ready for collection at a later date.

 

Throwing on the wheel can be messy so wear old clothes and tie long hair back. Aprons will be provided. This workshop is for over 16’s only.
