<<15% DISCOUNT ON THIS WORKSHOPS>> for ‘The Month Of Making’ (Normally £50)
Join Emma Redfern of Hole House for a full day of sewing to create a wire frame bag.
An impressive, classic looking bag that incorporates a wire frame for structure and which can be made in a variety of fabrics and adapted to suit your style.
Students will learn basic bag making techniques – how to pattern match fabric, use interfacing and interlining to produce a professional looking bag, how to insert pockets, a zip top and the use of an internal wire frame. They will be provided with full instructions and a pattern to take away, as well as all specialist materials needed – students will need to bring their own fabric, sewing machine, scissors, pins and matching thread. This class is suitable for those who can confidently use their sewing machine, but does not require any advanced sewing skills as each step will be fully explained in an informal and relaxed way.
Students are required to bring:
– A sewing machine in good working order
– A minimum of Half a metre outer fabric (tweed, canvas, something a bit heavier than quilt weight). If you have a fabric that requires tricky pattern matching, bring more if you can.
– Half a metre of a lining fabric (quilt weight, lawn etc)
– Matching thread
Please note there is a £20 material charge payable to the tutor on the day.
