A brand new workshop for The Makers Mill in 2022 is the Needle Felt Herdwick Sheep Decoration with Emma of The Felted Herdwick.
Join Emma from The Felted Herdwick to learn how to needle felt a Herdwick Sheep decoration completely of sheep wool. Emma and her family farm Herdwick sheep in Grasmere and you will be using wool from their flock of sheep. Needle felting is a process that involves stabbing wool fibres many times using a barbed needle until they interlock. You will use this technique to make and decorate your very own ewenique Herdwick Sheep!
Please note there is a £15 material cost payable to the tutor on the day. All tools are yours to take home after the course and extra wool can be purchased for future projects if desired.
These include: –
- 2 x Groz Beckert Felting Needles 38 Gauge in a handy plastic storage tube
- 1 Biodegradable Wool & Hessian Needle felting pad to use as a work surface
- A pair of leather finger protectors
- Grey Herdwick wool, natural white and brown Shetland wool (all British)
