Join the lovely Liz Jones for an introduction into the world of lino printing!
The workshop is a great introduction to reduction lino printing. Some experience of lino printing would be useful but is not essential. By the end of the workshop you will have designed, cut and printed your own linocut in two colours, plus white.
The workshop will cover:
• points to consider when creating a design;
• transferring the design onto a block;
• preparing the block and paper for accurate registration
• cutting the design into the block (in two stages); and
• printing two layers of colour using relief water based printing inks using a printing press (I will also show you how to print without a press)
Before working on your main piece you will learn about the materials, tools and techniques required to create a print. There will be an opportunity to practice cutting and printing before progressing onto your main design.
You will be provided with all the tools and materials you will need.
Included in the cost of your workshop is lunch from the extremely popular Jan’s Sandwich shop in Keswick.
Items to bring: Please wear old clothes and bring an apron. Prepared sketch/ideas (Notes to aide preparation will be emailed prior to the workshop).
