We are very excited to invite you to join Emma Redfern of Hole House for a TWO FULL DAYS of sewing to create a Pippa Satchel Bag.
Pippa can be made in two sizes and has a range of optional details which make this a
bag you can sew again and again as your skills and confidence increase. Either a
simple, small handbag that tucks neatly under your arm or a larger satchel with lots of
pockets, it has an extended, zip top and smart, piped edges allowing you to play around
with different fabrics. The strap is made from webbing.
Suitable for beginners as many of the trickier details are optional. Also suitable for more
experienced bag makers.
Fabric Requirements:
Please can participants bring the following:
● Sewing machine (with regular and zipper foot), scissors, pins
and clips, thread, pen or pencil, ruler.
● Half – 1 metre outer fabric (depending on size)
● A fat quarter of fabric for piping if using something different to the main fabric

I design and sew a range of bags and purses in an array of beautiful fabrics and I only use the best I can find. There is no enjoyment for me in mass producing, cutting corners or scrimping on the details … so I don’t.
I take time to get the fabrics right for each piece, combining tweed with Liberty or vintage barkcloth with a modern cotton, and the attention is always on the detail, those little bits that maybe only you and I would notice. I am a fanatical pattern matcher and pocket obsessive.
Purchase our Gift Vouchers and they can use them on any of our workshops or gallery items.
